Engineering Notes
Volt-drop: Calculated using 11 mV per amp per metre – the industry standard for 4mm² flexible copper under BS 7671 Appendix 4 methodology.
Design limit: 5% (approx. 11.5V) is the typical design guideline for portable equipment circuits.
Arctic-grade insulation: Maintains flexibility at –20°C for safe handling in cold environments.
What IP67 Really Means
IP67 is one of the highest levels of environmental sealing available for CEE connectors.
- 6 = Dust-tight – no dust can enter the housing.
- 7 = Waterproof – protected from immersion up to 1 metre for 30 minutes.
This makes IP67 couplers ideal for construction sites, rain, wash-down cleaning, temporary event power and marine conditions.
Frequently Asked Questions
