Sell Your Old Cable
We buy spare electrical power cable — and if it’s too worn to upcycle, we’ll recycle it for you free of charge.
If you’ve got cable sitting in a shed, garage, workshop, site cabin, van, storage unit or warehouse, we run a simple Send Your Cable → Get a Price service. We particularly want common sizes on drums, half drums or coils.
What Cable We’re Looking For
We’re mainly interested in electrical power cable in the following conductor sizes:
- 1.5mm²
- 2.5mm²
- 4mm²
- 6mm²
We will consider cable supplied as full drums, half drums, coils or mixed bundles. Colour doesn’t matter — we commonly see:
- Blue Arctic
- Yellow Arctic
- Orange Arctic
- White or black cable
- Mixed colours and types
Smaller than 1.5mm²? In many cases we may not be able to pay for sizes below 1.5mm², but we can still recycle them for free.
We will also take your old unused hookup cables if you have any that you want to get paid for. Please note that cables that you send us will be valued based on condition. If it is too scuffed and dirty, we will value it based on the work needed to restore it. If it is too old and damaged, we can recycle it for you for free.
How It Works
You know how you have those "cash cow" services where you send your old broken jewelry and stuff to the company and they give you a price? it is like that but for cable. Even an old 10 metre hookup cable that no longer works. Send it to us and, if we can upcycle, we will pay you.
- Tell us what you’ve got (WhatsApp photos/video is fastest).
- We send you a Royal Mail label for up to 30kg in a box.
- You send the cable to us using the provided label.
- We sort and inspect what arrives (type, size, length, condition).
- We make you an offer based on what you sent and its condition.
- If anything can’t be upcycled, we recycle it responsibly at no charge.
Free Royal Mail Label (Up To 30kg)
We provide a Royal Mail shipping label for sending your cable to us, up to a total parcel weight of 30kg in a suitably strong box.
Packing tips:
- Use a strong double-wall cardboard box where possible.
- Coil cable tightly to reduce movement in transit.
- If sending drums/half drums, secure them well so they can’t roll or burst the box.
- If ends are cut or damaged, that’s fine — just include everything so we can assess it.
How We Price Your Cable
We offer a price after inspection based on what you send and the condition. Typical factors include:
- Cable size (1.5mm², 2.5mm², 4mm², 6mm²)
- Approximate length / amount supplied (drum, half drum, coil)
- Condition (clean jacket, cuts, abrasion, contamination, crushed sections)
- Suitability for upcycling (re-termination potential for safe re-use)
If the cable is too worn, heavily contaminated, or unsafe to upcycle, we can still take it and recycle it for free.
Send Photos or Video on WhatsApp for a Fast Valuation
If you have a large amount of cable (multiple coils, drums, mixed bundles, job-lot clear-outs), the fastest way to get an accurate indication is to send us photos or a short video.
Try to show:
- The cable size markings (e.g. 1.5mm², 2.5mm², 4mm², 6mm²)
- Drums/half drums/coils so we can estimate quantity
- Overall condition (any cuts, wear, paint, oil, tape residue)
- Colours and types (Arctic, flex, etc.)

Why Upcycling Matters
Good cable shouldn’t be wasted. Where safe and practical, we aim to upcycle usable power cable into professionally made leads and assemblies. Anything that can’t be safely reused is sent for responsible recycling so materials are recovered and kept out of landfill.
